M-LISADA Organization, Uganda
M-LISADA (Music, Life Skills, and Destitution Alleviation) is an organization that protects, supports, houses, and educates the destitute children, from 6 to 16 years of age, who live on the streets of Kampala, in Uganda. Using music and the performing arts to teach children empowerment and life skills, M-LISADA was created in 1996 by eight street children with the dream to start their own brass band. Since its inception, over 2,500 children have walked through the doors of M-LISADA.
